Off the back of his maiden series win last time out, Oliver Rowland continued his good run of form in the CERTINA Formula Renault 2.0 UK Championship by taking pole position for the opening race at Brands Hatch, before repeating the trick in the second session to make it three pole positions for the season.
A best lap of 1min 22.381s in the early morning session gave Fortec Motorsport's Rowland pole, with championship leader Alex Lynn making it a Fortec lock-out of the front row, ending up 0.119s adrift. Tio Ellinas took third for Atech Reid GP, with Manor Competition's Jordan King alongside him. Dan Wells continued his impressive recent form with the fifth fastest time, the Atech driver joined on the third row by Daniel Cammish.
The returning Felix Serralles took seventh for Fortec, followed by Jack Hawksworth, who has returned to Mark Burdett Motorsport, and Fortec trio Mitchell Gilbert, Alex Walker and Ed Jones. Hawksworth, Gilbert and Jones all saw some of their lap times disallowed due to exceeding track limits. Manor pair Alice Powell and Josh Hill, and Formula Renault debutant Geoff Uhrhane completed the fourteen runners.
The second session produced an exact replica of the top seven of the previous grid. Rowland and Lynn once again on the front row, this time Rowland topping the timesheets by 0.264s. Ellinas and King once again line up on row two, with Wells and Cammish completing the top six. Serralles will line up seventh, those this time ahead of Fortec team-mates Jones and Gilbert. Powell will start tenth ahead of team-mate Hill, Walker, Hawksworth and Uhrhane.
