Charles Ng will build upon a promising start to his World Touring Car Championship career with a full campaign this year for Liqui Moly Team Engstler alongside team boss Franz Engstler.

The Hong Kong driver contested the three Asian races at the end of 2011 in a BMW run by the German outfit, scoring one top ten finish on home soil in Shanghai.

The 27-year-old will race alongside 50-year-old Engstler, who scored his first overall win at his home race at Oschersleben.

“It was a very promising start for him,” said team manager Kurt Treml. “Charles has moved to live in our town, works together with the mechanics and trains on the simulator. He is quickly integrating himself with the team.”

Ng replaces Kristian Poulsen as Engstler's second full-time driver, the Dane having announced his retirement from the WTCC immediately after winning the Yokohama Trophy title in Macau, in order to concentrate on family and his business commitments.
