
Pre-season testing takes place at Silverstone tomorrow - Photo Credit: FIA Formula Two Championship
18 drivers will take part in the official FIA Formula Two Championship test that will be held at Silverstone tomorrow.
It will the drivers' first chance to get behind the wheel of the upgraded F2 car featuring carbon brakes and Yokohama tyres.
Seven drivers that raced during the 2011 season will be present, led by series runner-up Christopher Zanella who confirmed his return earlier today. Joining him are James Cole, Mihai Marinescu, Jose Luis Abadin and three drivers who have already been confirmed on the 2012 grid – Luciano Bacheta, Parthiva Sureshwaren and Plamen Kralev.
The other drivers in attendance to have already been confirmed on the grid for the coming season are British duo Daniel McKenzie and Hector Hurst, as well as Switzerland's Alex Fontana, Germany's Markus Pommer and China's David Zhu.
As reported yesterday, 2010 series champion Dean Stoneman will be making his return to the F2 cockpit after recovering from cancer.
Reigning Formula Renault BARC champion Dino Zamparelli is looking to race in F2 this year and he will be driving at the test having previously sampled the car as a finalist in the McLaren Autosport BRDC Award. Fellow BARC racer Kourosh Khani will also be at Silverstone.
Formula Pilota China champion Matheo Tuscher returns to F2 after an impressive debut performance in the winter test at Barcelona. Fellow Swiss racer Mauro Calamia and former Formula BMW Pacific racer Axcil Jefferies of Zimbabwe complete the entry list.
