Stefan Bradl suffered a frustrating day in his preparations the 2012 MotoGP season as wind and rain restricted him to just 23 laps. The Moto2 World Champion will make his debut with LCR Honda and was desperate to get as much dry mileage as possible but the unpredictable weather made that impossible.

Bradl ended the day in 17th place after choosing not to risk his bike or himself on the drying track late in the afternoon. The German was happy with the feeling of the RC213V in the limited running he got but rued the lack of dry mileage.

“Well… today we could not lap so much because of the weather bad conditions but as soon as it started to rain consistently we went out for a couple of laps. Immediately I had a good feeling with the bike, the tyres and everything was good from the beginning. Then we made a change to make the bike turning easier and it worked: we went out on another set of tyres that made me lapping comfortably and I could improve the lap time quite easy. Unfortunately the asphalt was not fully wet so this means that you destroy the tyres too quickly and we have decided to finish the session earlier. We'll see if the weather is sunny tomorrow for the last outing”.

Tomorrow will be the final day of testing for the riders to prepare for the 2012 season before the season opener in Qatar on April 8th.
