MGR Motorsport have announced their driver line up for the 2012 Protyre Formula Renault BARC Championship, with 2011 returnees David Wagner and James Fletcher being joined by car racing graduate Jake Dalton.

MGR Motorsport, run by Mark Godwin and Kelvin Burt, enjoyed a strong season in Formula Renault BARC last year, with lead driver Matt Mason taking the final victory of the season on his way to sixth in the championship.

Returning from the main championship last year is Scottish racer Wagner, having taken two top six finishes on his way to eleventh in the points last year. He will be joined by Fletcher, who stunned his rivals in last year's end of season Finals Series, taking three BARC class wins in his first six Formula Renault races. Joining them will be 16 year old Dalton, the highly rated karter making his first steps into car racing.

Burt said: “I’m delighted with our decision to return to the BARC Formula Renault championship. Our focus at MGR is on developing some of the world’s most promising motoring talent and following a strong premier season in the championship we look forward to seeing what the coming year has in store.

“The championship series visits some classic British circuits across the length and breadth of the country, providing our fans the ideal opportunity to come and support us trackside and offering some great exposure for our sponsors.”

Fletcher said: “After picking up my first win in Formula Renault with MGR after just a handful of outings in the car in 2011, I’m very excited to be back with the team for a second season. I’ve put in a lot of work during the winter training and I’m eager to get back on track and see if it’s paid off.”

Dalton commented: “I’m very happy to have signed with MGR for 2012. Mark and Kelvin have a lot of experience between them, both as drivers and coaches, and I’m looking forward to learning all I can. I’m really excited to be competing in one of the best feeder series in the UK and pitting myself against talented drivers from around the world.”

Wagner added: “MGR are a very professional, well run and friendly team and they know how to get the most out of their drivers. It is a privilege to be racing with them again.”
