Norbert Michelisz yesterday tested the car in which he will make his International Superstars Series debut at the Hungaroring next weekend.

The WTCC race winner took the track at Franciacorta in Italy to sample the BMW M3 run by the Scuderia Giudici outfit.

Michelisz was immediately impressed by the car.

“It’s been great to be behind the wheel of this type of car,” he said. “The engine’s sound is really loud, and matches the power which is impressive even when you just touch the throttle.

“The team has been satisfied with the early laptimes scored today which proved in-line with the other Superstars car.

“The BMW is a bit of a monster, you need to be measured with the gas. Although it’s pretty small in size, the Franciacorta circuit is perfect for testing. At the start, I tried to gain the right amount of confidence with the car even though I was clearly able to perceive its full potential.

“Adapting the car to the characteristics of the Hungaroring will be key and I’ll be advantaged because I know the track really well. It won’t be easy because there are a lot of great drivers and cars ready to make our life tougher, but we’ll do our best to be on top.”
