Wagner Aiming For Silverstone Double

1 Mins read

David Wagner is looking to end his season on a high and cement third place in the Protyre Formula Renault BARC Championship with a double victory in the final rounds at Silverstone

A maiden win last time out at Donington Park has given Wagner a fifteen point advantage in the race for third in the championship. He is looking to impress at Silverstone, where the series will be joining the BTCC package, with the final round of the season broadcast live on ITV4.

“Having won the last race at Donington Park, I’m heading into Silverstone in great form and my aim is to continue that this weekend,” said Wagner. “32 cars have entered the event and with 40,000 spectators in attendance and the live TV coverage, it is going to be a great spectacle for everyone involved. The goal is to win both races and secure third in the championship which would be a fantastic way to end the season.”

There has been some slight disappointment for Wagner though, with the Scotsman missing out on making it into the final six for the McLaren Autosport BRDC Award.

“I was disappointed not to be chosen for shootout” he added. “With many drivers in contention each year and with only six final places, there are always going to be people who aren’t picked. However, I would like to thank everyone who took the time to vote for me and I am even more determined to win at Silverstone this weekend.”
