Bamboo Engineering drivers James Nash and Alex MacDowall gave the team’s re-liveried Chevrolet Cruze machines a shakedown at Rockingham on Wednesday.

Typical British weather prevented any dry running, as new signing Nash sampled the triple-championship winning model for the first time and MacDowall returned to the cockpit for the first time since his heavy accident at the 2012 season finale in Macau.

The team is sporting a new silver, blue and white livery, colours that will also be seen on the Silverstone-based outfit’s new GP3 Series entry for this season.

“Seeing the livery go on is really satisfying,” said team chief Richard Coleman. “The final pieces are falling into place on what is set to be a really strong season for Bamboo. With a great driver line-up, we feel more organised than ever and I’m quietly confident that we’ll perform.”

The team will test again at Pembrey in Wales before the first races of the season at Monza on 24 March.
