RML revealed the cars that Yvan Muller and Tom Chilton will drive in this year’s World Touring Car Championship at the series’ media launch in Turin on Wednesday.

After running the factory Chevrolet programme from 2005 until 2012, RML will continue in the WTCC this year with two privately-entered Cruze models.

Triple world champion Muller remains with the team, with backing from Lukoil. The Russian oil firm has sponsored Gabriele Tarquini and Aleksei Dudukalo’s SEATs for the past two seasons and will this year back the Lada team with drivers Dudukalo and James Thompson, but will also support Muller’s title bid with RML.

Aon follow Chilton to RML from the Arena Ford team they had been title sponsor of for the past few seasons, and will have logos on both cars.

“We have tremendous support from Lukoil and Aon, which has helped make our WTCC programme possible,” said RML’s managing director George Lendrum.

“We are proud to represent two world leading brands and their interest in both us as a team and in the WTCC proves that this championship continues to offer a relevant, exciting and global marketing platform.

“I am sure this will be a hugely competitive season for the WTCC and we look forward to working with all at Lukoil and Aon and with Yvan and Tom.  We’re all incredibly motivated for success and as the team heads to Monza we wish them all the very best for the season ahead.”
