CDR ‘Glad To Be Back’ With Croft Return

1 Mins read

Cliff Dempsey Racing will be making a return to the Protyre Formula Renault Championship grid this weekend at Croft, running reigning Finnish Formula Ford champion Jesse Anttila.

The 19 year old will be making his competitive ‘slicks and wings’ debut. He previously tested a FR 2.0 car with CDR at Snetterton in the series official test in April, a strong performance putting him just 0.043s outside the top ten in the times.

The former Formula Ford GB racer is aiming to gain as much experience as possible ahead of a full campaign with the Corby-based squad in 2014.

“We’re glad to be back,” said CDR team principal Cliff Dempsey, “For now we’re in for Croft but we’re hopeful we’ll also be able to do the final two as well at Rockingham and Silverstone. The plan is for Jesse to get experience of the car now and then hopefully secure the budget for a full season next year.

“He did a good job in the Snetterton test, to be only a second away from the top of the times was a great effort on his first time in the car. He’s gone quite well in the testing we’ve done this week, he’s absolutely fine with everything on the mechanical side – he just needs to develop more faith in the aero. Croft will be a very big learning curve for Jesse, but we’re all really looking forward to it.”
