Rally Yorkshire Leaves BRC Calendar For 2014

1 Mins read

Rally Yorkshire will step down as a round of the MSA British Rally Championship for 2014, following a mutual agreement between the event and championship organisers.

After many years as a qualifying round of the BRC, the decision has been made between BRC manager Mark Taylor and Trackrod Clerk of the Course Rod Parkin to remove the event from the calendar, though a return in the future has not been ruled out.

The event organisers are aiming to consolidate its immediate future by acting as a regional qualifying rounds for the BTRDA and English Championships, and a round of the RAC Historic Championship.

Last year Rally Yorkshire played host to a dramatic season finale, which saw Tom Cave (pictured) take the event win and Keith Cronin the championship title.

Plans are well underway for this year’s event, the penultimate round of the 2013 championship, which takes place in five weeks time.
