24 And Out For Champion Cammish

1 Mins read

Newly–crowned Dunlop MSA Formula Ford Championship of Great Britain champion Dan Cammish brought his 2013 season to a close on 24 wins in 24 races with another dominant success in the final race of the weekend at Rockingham.

Cammish, who plans to miss the remainder of the season to focus on a BTCC switch in 2014, completed his Rockingham hat-trick with yet another lights to flag success.

A characteristic great start for Cammish saw the JTR ace lead away from the pole position, with Jayde Kruger slotting into second. Harrison Scott and Camren Kaminsky ran side-by-side into Deene for third, with Scott just holding the position exiting the bend.

Scott quickly shrugged the pack off behind and with Kaminsky slipping back to eighth on lap two, Sam Brabham was left to assume fourth from Andrew Richardson.

The man on the move in the battle for fourth was Juan Rosso, the Jamun Racing ace mounting a recovery drive after stalling at the start. The Argentinian passed James Abbott, Chang Wing Chung and Richardson in quick succession in the middle of the race, before closing down and passing Brabham on lap ten.

As Rosso quickly edged away to try and close the huge gap to Scott ahead, Brabham led a four car train for fifth. Chang was his closest challenger until lap thirteen, when a slick move from Kaminsky saw him grab sixth into Tarzan.

At the front, Kruger kept Cammish within touching distance throughout the sixteen lap encounter and closed onto his tail in the final two laps, but was unable to mount a challenge. Cammish crossed the line to confirm a 100% winning record for the season, with Kruger taking his second runner-up spot of the weekend.

Scott had a lonely run to third, the Falcon Motorsport ace crossing the line over eight seconds adrift of the top two. Rosso took fourth from Brabham and Kaminsky, while Chang secured his first finish of his debut weekend with a hard-fought seventh.

Richardson took eighth from Abbott, while Connor Mills rounded out the top ten ahead of Jack Dex and Alex Reade.
