Luke Reade has become the latest new driver to join the Dunlop MSA Formula Ford Championship of Great Britain grid for the upcoming rounds at Rockingham this weekend.
The 19 year old will make his championship debut with Falcon Motorsport at the Corby-based circuit, becoming the third driver to make his debut this weekend alongside Falcon’s other new signing Andy Chang and SWB Motorsport’s Jack Dex.
Karting graduate Luke, son of motorsport memorabilia Alex Reader, first drove for Falcon when he won a test with the team after starring in last year’s Henry Surtees kart event at Buckmore Park.
The Kent-based racer’s first and only car race came in an historic Formula Ford in May this year, with the plan for Reade to complete the remainder of the 2013 season with a view to a full campaign in 2014.
“The Henry Surtees test was how we got to know Nick Streatfield and Falcon, and I was offered a drive for the full season but couldn’t quite get the budget together,” said Luke. “Then this chance came up to do the last three meetings, and we snatched it up. It’s very early to talk about next season but this will be a good taster for us and if it all goes well we can look at full season in 2014.”
