SWB’s Dex To Make Formula Ford Debut At Rockingham

1 Mins read

Jack Dex will make his racing return in the Dunlop MSA Formula Ford Championship of Great Britain at Rockingham with SWB Motorsport.

The 21 year old last competed in the Protyre Formula Renault Championship in 2012, racing in three of the six weekends with SWB, taking a best finish of sixth at Silverstone.

Dex, who currently runs the SWB Academy kart team, tested the new EcoBoost Formula Ford at Silverstone last year and has further tests at Blyton Park and Rockingham planned ahead of his series debut.

“I wanted to do the full championship season,” said Jack. “I struggled to find a budget though and couldn’t really spare the time off from running the kart team. It happens that I am free for Rockingham and someone has very kindly offered to fund the outing for me. I would like to do Silverstone as well, but we will wait to see how we get on, and then hopefully do a full season next year.

“SWB has been making good steps with the Sinter and it would be nice to get a result with it and to prove that it’s as good as the Mygale.”

Dex is the latest driver to compete in the SWB-Sinter, the sole Sinter chassis remaining on the grid, with Fred Martin-Dye, Rob Shield and Zaid Ashkanani having raced it so far this season.
