For the fourth consecutive year, the Protyre Formula Renault Championship will join the BTCC package for its season finale next season after series organisers today confirmed the series’ 2014 calendar.
The 2014 campaign will start with a pair of triple-header events at Rockingham and Donington Park, before returning to Brands Hatch for the first time since 2011. Trips to Snetterton and Croft follow, before the BTCC-supporting finale at Silverstone.
At all the meetings bar Silverstone, the championship will run alongside the Michelin Clio Cup Series, while a change from last season will see the annual testing ban implemented later in the year than usual, Thursday 29 May, meaning competitors can test up to, and in between, the first two race meetings.
“Obviously, the crown jewel in our calendar over the last few seasons has been the BTCC support date for the Protyre Formula Renault finale and we’re absolutely delighted to once again be part of the Silverstone weekend on the TOCA package,” said Simon North.
“We’ve got a strong calendar, featuring some fantastic circuits, and by having two triple-headers alongside four double-headers the championship once again offers excellent value for money racing with a proven and incredibly reliable car.”
