More than twenty drivers are expected at Rockingham on Tuesday (12 November) for the annual Dunlop MSA Formula Ford Championship of Great Britain Sampler Day.
The ‘open day’ gives prospective drivers the chance to try the EcoBoost Formula Ford car as they consider their options for the 2014 season.
Many of the championship’s top teams will be in attendance, including Falcon Motorsport, SWB, Radical Motorsport, Richardson Racing, Meridian Motorsport and Jamun Racing.
Amongst the drivers attending are former Young Guns and Formula Renault BARC racer Anton Spires, ex-Formula Ford 1600 driver Chris Mealin, newly-crowned Ford Fiesta Junior champion James ‘JJ’ Ross, former Australian Formula Ford racer Greg Holloway and Max Cornelius, who recently made his racing return in BRDC Formula 4.
They will be joined by a number of karters looking to make the step into car-racing, including Ricky Collard, son of BTCC driver Rob, current NKRA National Kart champion Sam Dible, former Romanian KF3 and KF2 champion David Dugaesescu and British Rotax Super 1 series driver Harrison Wignall.
“We are very pleased indeed to have in excess of twenty young drivers queuing up to familiarise themselves with an EcoBoost Formula Ford,” said championship manager Sam Roach. “Even more gratifying is that they are all serious, licence-holding prospects who are keen to try the car and find out more about the championship.”
