Kruger Confirms Formula Ford Return

1 Mins read

South African star Jayde Kruger is the latest driver to announce a return to the Dunlop MSA Formula Ford Championship of Great Britain for 2014.

Kruger, who turns 26 next month, will drive the same Mountune-powered Mygale chassis that took him to a single race-win last season, but has yet to choose which team he will run with.

The two-time South African Formula Ford and three-time South African Formula Volkswagen champion joined the UK field from the fourth weekend at Oulton Park onwards last season, taking eleven podium finishes, including his win at Silverstone, en-route to sixth in the standings.

“I learned a lot about the circuits last year, having never been to any of them before,” said Kruger, “and of course in 2013 I learned about driving a turbo car, which was a bit different for me, and about setting up the car, so I will start this season off with all that knowledge – a better foundation.

“But I will be with a different team, and up against some difficult drivers to beat, so it’s not going to be easy. Lots of stuff has been found with the car where we can make improvements and hopefully by the end of March we will have a car that is quick enough to allow us to walk away like [2013 Champion Dan] Cammish did.”

Kruger is the third 2013 race-winner to confirm his return to the series this season, alongside Juan Rosso and Harrison Scott, while fellow front-runner Sam Brabham is also back.
