Renault Vice-Champion Tan Enters German F3

1 Mins read

Caterham F1 Academy driver Weiron Tan has signed a deal to compete in German ATS Formula 3 Cup this season with Dutch squad Van Amersfoort Racing.

The 19 year old Malaysian racer was a star in the Protyre Formula Renault Championship last season with Fortec Motorsport. After a slow start to the campaign, Tan stormed to five wins in a row over the middle of the campaign, victories that comfortably secured him second in the championship behind Chris Middlehurst.

“I am really excited to be racing in Formula 3 next season,” said Tan. “The car is the most amazing car to drive and I simply can’t wait to get back in it! I really must thank Van Amersfoort Racing, Caterham F1 and WHSG for this opportunity and I shall be giving it my all to make sure we get the best results we can.”
