The defending Formula Ford champion team, JTR, have confirmed the third driver in their line up for the 2014 season. Max Marshall will make his full season debut with the team after twice entering two rounds of the championship, in 2011 and 2013. Marshall joins Jayde Kruger and Sam Brabham at the team which managed Dan Cammish’s total domination of the series last year.
Along with two rounds in 2011 with the Duratech engined car, Marshall raced Cammish’s chassis at the final two race meetings of the championship in 2013. This gives the nineteen year old a solid understanding of the EcoBoost specification Mygale. The Leicestershire based driver demonstrated his speed well when he made his EcoBoost debut and claimed a trio of pole positions at Silverstone.
“The EcoBoost Mygale is amazing to drive and JTR is the team to be with, so I have no doubts at all that this season will be a brilliant experience for me,” enthused Marshall. “It will be great also to be racing alongside Jayde and Sam, and I know I will learn a lot from them.”
Team principal Nick Tandy added, “We have very high hopes for him. He has shown himself to be very quick and spectacular to watch, and we believe that during the course of a full-season programme with us that we can work on his talents, build his abilities and translate them into race-winning performance.”
Marshall tested at Brands Hatch last week and plans additional seat time in the Mygale ahead of the season opening round of the championship at the Kent circuit at the end of this month.
