Renault UK Clio Cup stalwart Lee Pattison will once again run with JHR Developments in the one-make category this season.
Pattison competed with JHR in the Clio’s last season, taking a race-win in only his second meeting of the season at Thruxton after two years away from Clio action. The 39 year old also carded ten ‘Masters Cup’ wins, more than any other driver, narrowly missing out on the class title in the final race.
Pattison made his Clio Cup debut in 2008, and put his best campaign together in 2010, two wins and five other podiums helping him to the runner-up spot. In the new turbo-charged fourth-generation Clio this year, JHR team boss Steven Hunter feels the Yorkshireman can be challenging for the title once again.
“Considering the results of previous years, especially becoming Vice-Champion in 2010, Lee will try and go one better than that this season,” said Hunter. “Over the last couple of years, his racing has certainly matured – he has a more fluent way of driving now and that showed last season. Everyone at JHR is really looking forward to the challenge of the new Clio and, of course, working with Lee.”
