RP Motorsport Trio top Hungary Practice

1 Mins read

Championship rivals Sandy Stuvik and Artur Janosz spearheaded a RP Motorsport 1-2-3 in practice ahead of this weekends Hungarian round of the EuroFormula Open at the Hungaroring. Their Russian team-mate John Simonyan was third.

The fastest times of the day for most drivers came in the opening session of the three held on Friday. Stuvik’s best was 0.187s faster than Janosz, while Simonyan’s best was 0.274s down on the Thai driver up front.

The best non-RP Motorsport driver was Yu Kanamaru of Emilio de Villota Motorsport in fourth, just ahead of Yarin Stern, double podium finisher last time out at Jerez, of Team West-Tec F3. RP Motorsport had another representative in the top ten with Guatemalan Andres Saravia setting the sixth fastest time of the day.

German Nicholas Pohler was seventh for Team West-Tec F3, just ahead of Alex Palou of Campos Racing, while Tanart Sathienthirakul of Team West-Tec F3 placed ninth. The final place in the top ten went to series returnee Christopher Hoher of BVM Racing.

Unfortunately for fans of Italian driver Tommaso Menchini, they will not see their driver compete this weekend due to illness. He participated in the test on Thursday for Corbetta Competizioni but has returned home to Italy to recover from a fever.
