Thai driver Sandy Stuvik continued his good form by taking pole position for race two of the EuroFormula Open event at Silverstone. The RP Motorsport driver set a best time of 1:55.395s, and will be joined on the front row of the grid by Israeli driver Yarin Stern of Team West-Tec F3, who continues to improve as the season goes on.
Alex Palou will start third for Campos Racing, alongside the second Team West-Tec F3 machine of Tanart Sathienthirakul, who set a lap time identical to that of the Spaniard in third. Yu Kanamaru was a fraction slower for Emilio de Villota Motorsport in fifth place, and he will be joined on the third row by the second of the Campos Racing machines Konstantin Tereschenko.
Artur Janosz’s difficult weekend continued as he could only qualify seventh, the pre-event championship leader lost the lead yesterday to his RP Motorsport team-mate Stuvik, and runs the risk of losing touch completely if he has a bad race.
Andres Saravia was eighth for RP Motorsport ahead of Che-One Lim of Emilio de Villota Motorsport, while Wei Fung Thong of Team West-Tec F3 beat Sean Walkinshaw of Campos Racing by 0.015s to take tenth place on the grid.
