Crutchlow To Switch Ducati For LCR Honda In 2015

1 Mins read

Cal Crutchlow will depart from the Ducati factory MotoGP squad after just a single season following confirmation of his switch to LCR Honda for 2015. The Briton will head Lucio Cecchinello’s satellite Honda outfit which will run under a slightly new name next year after the announcement of new title sponsor CWM.

Crutchlow has endured a miserable campaign with just 28 points to show for a season which has been dogged by injury and mechanical unreliability. It initially appeared as though the 29 year old would remain with Ducati for a second season but a statement from the Bologna squad confirmed that the two parties had agreed to terminate their agreement at the end of the current season. As a result, Andrea Iannone will be promoted to the factory team alongside Andrea Dovizioso.

The news throws the future of Stefan Bradl into question but LCR team boss Lucio Cecchinello is rubbing his hands at the line-up he has assembled for the 2015 campaign.

We want to thank Cal for his trust in our 2015 racing project and we are excited to line up with new Team colours thanks to the cooperation with CWM. In the mean time we will keep working hard to end the current season in the best way”.
