Rally North Wales Returns With New Home

1 Mins read

Rally North Wales will continue in 2015 despite the sabbatical of the MSA British Rally Championship, with the newly-named North Wales Rally Services – Weir Laundry Equipment RNW Stages forming part of the MSA Pirelli Welsh Rally Championship

For the past two seasons the event was scheduled to be the opening round of the BRC, however the event was forced to be postponed on each occasion. In 2013 the event couldn’t run due to adverse weather conditions, while insufficient entries caused its downfall last year.

With the support of local and national businesses, the Wolverhampton and South Staffs Car Club (WSCC) have confirmed the new-look rally will return on March 28th using the same forestry complex as Wales Rally GB.

“We are overwhelmed at the support we have received from everyone to allow the event to run again after a difficult two years. The new look format offers a cost effective event with a compact format to ensure minimal cost for the competitors in these tough times,” said Clerk of the Course Richard Hinton.

“We can offer 40 plus stage miles with just 60 road miles to link the Dyfi and Gartheiniog forestry complex together. It’s a real back to basics approach and concentrates on giving the competitors a day’s rallying for minimal fuss.”

The event will also be part of the Pirelli MSA Welsh Forest Rally Championship, Mintex HRCR Rally Championship, Welsh Historic Clubman’s Rally Championship, ASWMC Gravel Rally Championship and ANWCC Forestry Rally Championship.
