Lomax Sets the bar high for other British Super1600 hopefuls

The first round of the British Rallycross Championship saw Craig Lomax Sets the bar high as his  team headed to Croft Circuit to start their 2015 campaign. Unfortunately for them there were no other Super1600 cars entered down to other cars not being ready. This meant they had to run in the Supermodified class against a field of much more powerful cars.

“When we found out we were the only car entered and we would have to run with the Supermodified class, it seemed a good opportunity to use it as a shake down for the car, we still have improvements that we want to do,” remarked Lomax

Having spent two straight days on the rolling road in the lead up to the event the car was pretty much untrack tested. It wasn’t something that should have worried Lomax and the team as the car did not miss a beat from practice to finals. As Lomax grew accustomed to the new car he was in fact closing on the more powerful competition.

Lomax has laid down the gauntlet and sent a strong message to the other Super1600 teams in the British Championship and quite possibly raised the bar for this season.

“After all the hard work and sleepless nights, especially in the last week. I have one word, Mint!” joked Lomax after the event.

Craig and the team now look to round 2 which will see the championship head to Lydden Hill in Kent returning to its traditional Easter Monday slot.
