The HTP Junior team were one of the most successful squads from the opening round of the season in Oschersleben. For the second round, they have brought in a third driver; Carrie Schreiner, to partner Janneau Esmeijer and current championship leader, Marvin Dienst.
“I look forward to the season with the HTP junior team.” said the 16 year old Schreiner, “Janneau and Marvin are two strong team mates, from which I can learn a lot. They give me extra motivation for my first season in ADAC Formula 4. I feel very comfortable in the team and I am looking forward to the intense preparation for the race at Red Bull Ring and the 2015 season.”
Schreiner moves up from the German Kart Championship but has tested the ADAC Formula 4 car in the pre-season. “We are pleased to take Carrie in our team. With her, we have an ambitious and talented driver, who has clear objectives and prepares meticulously for the season” said Gerhard Ungar who works with HTP, but also has experience in Formula One and DTM as the technical director and CEO of the HWA AG team.
The HTP teams success was clear to see on the Friday in the practice sessions, with Dienst and Esmeijer setting competitive times. While in the afternoon, Esmeijer managed to claim the first pole position of the season. While a poor race with mechanical problems saw him drop out of the running, his team mate, Marvin Dienst went on to claim the first ever ADAC F4 race win.
The HTP team then went one better by claiming a one-two finish in race 2 with Dienst again finishing as the successful victor. While they may have struggled in race three, the team will be hoping to keep up the momentum going into the second round at the Red Bull Ring.
