Russian Konstantin Tereschenko took his second pole position of the EuroFormula Open season during qualifying for race two at Paul Ricard on Sunday.
The Campos Racing driver set a best lap time of 1m59.662s to beat race one winner Vitor Baptista of RP Motorsport by 0.107s, with the top two well clear of the rest of the field.
Damiano Fioravanti was third for RP Motorsport, with the Italian driver putting in a good showing on Sunday morning. Fourth on the grid will be Thai driver Tanart Sathienthirakul of Team West-Tec F3, who ran strongly in race one to finish fifth.
Alessio Rovera, runner up in race one, will start fifth in race two for BVM Racing, with Yu Kanamaru of Emilio de Villota Motorsport joining the Italian on the third row, while RP Motorsport duo John Simonyan and Igor Walilko share row four.
Yarin Stern had another disappointing session to qualify down in ninth for Team West-Tec F3, while Andres Saravia completes the top ten in a fifth RP Motorsport machine.
Having lost the championship lead to Baptista during Saturday’s race, Tereschenko will be looking to reclaim the lead in race two and become the first two-time race winner of 2015.
