1 Mins read

David Beckmann was the fastest in the second of the practice sessions for ADAC Formula 4. The Mucke Motorsport driver managed to outclass the opposition in his opening weekend in the series.

The 25 minute session started with Joel Eriksson setting the early pace. He wanted to get some more laps in after coming second in this mornings practice. He lead from Tim Zimmermann and Mattia Drudi after the first lap.

Over the next 10 minutes, drivers continued to improve their times as Kim-Luis Schramm set the pace in the early part of the session, he was also the first racer into the 1 minute 33 seconds. Beckmann would take the lead before Schramm improved further.

With 15 minutes left, the top spot changed on a number of occasions, as championship leader, Marvin Dienst took the lead for a short time as Beckmann retook the lead. At the half way mark, he lead from Eriksson, Guan Yu Zhou, Schramm and Dienst.

After this the cars started to settle down with times before Robert Schwartzman, the fastest from first practice went second to make it a Mucke 1, 2, 3. The Russian continued to improve as he went then went fastest with Zhou also improving.

With 5 minutes left, the times started to drop significantly once again as the drivers started to rubber into the track. Beckmann managed the fastest time in all three sectors and further improved to be the first driver in the 1 minutes 32 seconds. While late improvements from Janneau Esmeijer saw him leap to third as Eriksson improved again up to fifth, they were split by Zhou.

However; it was Beckmann who beat Schwartzman by the end of the session by 0.125. While Mick Schumacher could only manage seventeenth, while team mate Harrison Newey will not be competing this weekend.
