Team LNT has confirmed that it will enter a Ginetta-Nissan LMP3 in the next round of the V de V Endurance Series at Paul Ricard (August 29-30).
Ginetta owner Lawrence Tomlinson will return to the cockpit alongside Michael Simpson, who will be taking part in the fourth round of the European Le Mans Series at the same circuit in September.
The British pair will be making a return to the V de V championship, having campaigned the Ginetta G55 GT3 in last year’s competition.
“I’m looking forward to being back alongside Lawrence for the V de V,” said Simpson. “We had some great success in the series in our G55 GT3 car last year, where our development year saw us bring home a number of pole positions as well as some silverware [at Dijon].”
“The track time will be crucial ahead of my ELMS race at Paul Ricard in three weeks’ time, but will also provide some preparation for a full European race programme for Lawrence in 2016.”
Racing at Paul Ricard will also allow Ginetta to collect further readings ahead of the ELMS’ upcoming visit to the French circuit. The Ginetta LMP3 has already turned laps at Paul Ricard during the official ELMS test weekend, registering a best time of 1:57.932s in dry conditions.
“This weekend is all about continuing the development of the car and having fun in a brilliantly run and friendly series,” said Tomlinson.
“We have fantastic facilities available to us at Ginetta, but there’s no better place to get insight than at the track. This circuit time will inevitably assist us in our preparations for Round Five of the ELMS, but as always, Mike and I will be aiming to be on the top step of the podium once again.”
