Championship contender Vitor Baptista was quickest overall in practice for the EuroFormula Open round at Spa-Francorchamps on Friday.

Brazilian Baptista, racing for the RP Motorsport outfit, set a best time of 2m15.605s to lead the way, 0.142s faster than Emilio de Villota Motorsports’ Japanese racer Yu Kanamaru.

Damiano Fioravanti was third quickest for RP Motorsport ahead of Alessio Rovera of DAV Racing, who is returning to the series this weekend after being absent from the grid last time out at the Red Bull Ring, while Tanart Sathienthirakul of Team West-Tec F3 was fifth. The Thai driver had been fastest in opening practice with a 2m16.085s but could not improve his time in the second session.

Championship leader Konstantin Tereschenko was sixth quickest for Campos Racing ahead of the second Team West-Tec F3 entry of Israeli driver Yarin Stern, while a second Campos Racing entry of Diego Menchaca was eighth.

Leonardo Pulcini was ninth for DAV Racing ahead of Andres Saravia of RP Motorsport, just ahead of team-mate and series debutant Kusiri Kantadhee.  Saravia was responsible for red flags in both sessions after going off track.
