Sixteen-year-old Mahaveer Raghunathan will make his EuroFormula Open debut in Monza this weekend after agreeing to drive for Team West-Tec F3.
The Indian driver, competing in 2015 with Motopark in the FIA European Formula 3 Championship, will join team regulars Yarin Stern and Tanart Sathienthirakul in the line-up for the penultimate round of the season.
Raghunathan will test with the team for two days this week ahead of his race debut this weekend, with team boss John Miller happy to have the Indian racing for West-Tec in Italy.
I am very happy that Mahaveer is joining our team and I look forward to working with him, and helping him be the best he can be,” said Miller.
“He is a really likeable young man and I am sure he can impress us – both with results and his potential.”
Another driver making their first appearance in EuroFormula Open this weekend will be Chinese driver Kang Ling, who will extend DAV Racing’s line-up to four cars.
Ling, who also raced in the European Formula 3 Championship with Mücke Motorsport before leaving the squad after the races in Austria in August, will link up with Leonardo Pulcini, Parth Ghorpade and Alessio Lorandi.
