Daruvala to race for Josef Kaufmann Racing in 2016

1 Mins read

Highly rated Indian driver Jehan Daruvala will race full-time in the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 Series in 2016 after securing a race seat alongside Lando Norris at Josef Kaufmann Racing.

The Sahara Force India-backed driver will also race in the Formula Renault 2.0 NEC championship, with the team having backed numerous future Formula 1 drivers, including current Force India star Nico Hulkenberg.

Daruvala raced for Fortec Motorsports during the 2015 season, finishing fifth in the NEC championship, and competed in the Eurocup rounds at Silverstone, the Nurburgring and Jerez, securing a best finish of seventh in the first of the rounds in Germany.

Before he embarks in his Formula Renault future, Daruvala will race in the Toyota Racing Series in New Zealand for M2 Competition.

“I am looking forward to an early start with the series in New Zealand in 2016,” said Daruvala. “It’s great to have a very competitive team mate: I am sure that we will be able to push each other to keep improving.

“I would like to thank the Sahara Force India Academy for their vital and continuing support.”
