Chinese teenager Kang Ling will join Italian brothers Daniele and Riccardo Cazzaniga at DAV Racing for the 2016 EuroFormula Open season.
Twenty-two-year-old Daniele, the elder of the two brothers, won the V de V Challenge Monoplace championship in 2014, while eighteen-year-old Riccardo also raced in the championship over the past two seasons.
Both brothers also have experience of Formula Renault 2.0-litre machinery, having spent some time in Formula Renault 2.0 ALPS.
“I’m happy to begin the season with such a great announcement,” said Team Owner Matteo Davenia. “As usual, we invested a lot on the Italian market and I’m proud to be the first team manager announcing two Italian drivers for the 2016 EuroFormula Open.
“I use to say that our team is like a family, and this time we have a family part of our team, as they are brothers. Our aim is to fight for the points regularly.”
Ling made his EuroFormula Open debut last season for DAV Racing having departed the FIA European Formula 3 Championship, and reunites for a full campaign with the Italian squad in 2016.
“I’m really happy to announce our extended partnership with Kang Ling,” added Davenia. “I’ve been pretty impressed by him since the first time he came in our workshop, as I met an extremely professional driver despite his young age.
“He worked well with the team in winter testing, and I’m sure he’ll be on top right from February’s collective test”.
