M-Sport bring in Norwegian Rally Champion Brynildsen for Rally Sweden WRC2 battle

Eyvind Brynildsen will take on the 2016 Rally Sweden for M-Sport as they continue their close partnership with Adapta Motorsport; lining up alongside Elfyn Evans, the Norwegian will pilot the latest evolution Ford Fiesta R5 in the WRC2 category.

Brynildsen is no stranger to a snowy terrain having taken the Norwegian Rally Championship title with a Ford Fiesta RRC last year

“The combination of Elfyn and Eyvind will allow us to challenge for WRC 2 victory at next month’s Rally Sweden” said M-Sport Managing Director, Malcolm Wilson OBE. “Being something of a specialist event, we felt it important to have someone accustomed to winter rallying and I think Eyvind will do a great job for us.

“His appointment also continues our close partnership with Adapta Motorsport. We know how strong Eyvind is – especially on snow – and I am confident that he can be at the top of the time sheets throughout the weekend.”

Brynildsen added, “I am really looking forward to Rally Sweden which will be something of a home event for me. Last year I won the Norwegian Rally Championship at the wheel of a Ford Fiesta so I have good knowledge of M-Sport’s cars and I can’t wait to experience the huge gains that M-Sport has made with the Fiesta R5.

“It really is fantastic to be driving as part of the M-Sport team and I think that we can be competitive. I will certainly do my best to fight for the top positions and bring home a really strong result for the team.”
