Tatiana Calderon will combine her GP3 Series commitments with Arden International with a dual campaign in the EuroFormula Open championship in 2016 after signing with Teo Martin Motorsport.
The Colombian racer will rejoin the team she competed with back in the 2012 European F3 Open series, the precursor of EuroFormula Open, when it was called Emilio de Villota Motorsport, and is looking to the championship to get as much track time and experience as possible in 2016.
“I’m so happy to compete alongside Emilio again in this championship and to have the opportunity to join this new team he has created with Teo,” said Calderon. “Since I participated in 2012 season, we have maintained a very good relationship and I love the idea of returning to the track together.
“I’m sure we will achieve great things. I also think it will be the perfect complement for GP3 program to address the lack of track time and keep learning to reach my goal”.
Although likely to miss the round at Silverstone due to her GP3 Series commitments in Hungary, Calderon will come into the year eager to impress after a strong MRF Challenge series put her disappointing 2015 FIA European Formula 3 Championship season behind her, with Team Principal Teo Martin welcoming the twenty-two-year old to his team.
“Tatiana’s arrival to the team is a personal satisfaction for me,” said Martin. “Beyond the talent she has at the wheel of a single-seater, her speed and her workability, I feel her like someone in my family.
“It’s like my granddaughter is racing with my team. She will show her skills this year with us and hopefully for many more looking for their dream of reaching the top in motorsport.”
