1 Mins read

Belgian Max Defourny took top spot in the second Collective Test session of the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 Series weekend at Motorland Aragon.

The R-ace GP driver set a time of 1m55.905s to lead the way ahead of 2015 MSA Formula champion Lando Norris, who ended 0.111s back in second for Josef Kaufmann Racing.

Norris’ Indian team-mate and session one pacesetter Jehan Daruvala was third quickest ahead of the first of Defourny’s team-mates Julien Falchero, while Tech 1 Racing’s former European Formula 3 Series racer Dorian Boccolacci completed the top five.

Harrison Scott was sixth quickest for the Adrian Vallés-led AVF team, 0.560s back on the time set by Defourny, while Russian teenager Robert Shwartzman was seventh in the third of the three Josef Kaufmann Racing entries.

Gabriel Aubry was eighth for Tech 1 Racing ahead of AVF’s Henrique Chaves, while Will Palmer completed the top ten for R-ace GP.

Focus will now turn to Saturday morning’s first qualifying session of the season, which will determine the grids for the first two races of the season that take place later that day at the Spanish circuit.
