Vauxhall Motorsport Junior Rally Team’s Robert Duggan has taken his third win of the 2016 DMACK Junior British Rally Championship season at the Nicky Grist Stages.
The Vauxhall ADAM R2 cars successfully completed the one-hundred and five mile mixed surface conditions that Wales had to offer for the teams and drivers.
Duggan had led both days of the Nicky Grist Stages to win the event, leading the DMACK Junior British Rally Championship by twenty-five points and has not used his joker card thus far in the season.
His team-mate Mattias Adielsson finished behind the Republic of Ireland driver in second place. Adielsson used his joker card at the event, is now third in the championship with sixty-five points.
Duggan said post-Nicky Grist Stages “Today was good, very good, we had a good lead going into that day and all we wanted to do was hold that lead until the end and we managed to pull away another bit from what we had over night, happy result. Mattias did a great job today, he pushed very hard. Delighted with the results. Can’t wait for Ulster.”
Adielsson added “Today has been really really good, we have been the fastest junior on the tarmac here so it’s been an awesome day actually from yesterday which was a really big mistake for me, but we repaired it with second place and our joker so for this moment, it feels like a victory. We gained almost 40 seconds on Sindre, so really really happy with that.”
