Harrison Scott set the pace in the second Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 Series qualifying of the weekend at the Red Bull Ring to secure his first pole position of the season on Sunday.

Scott set a best time of 1:28.172 in his AVF machine to usurp Saturday’s front runners Lando Norris and Max Defourny, who were forced to settle for second and third on the grid.

Defourny had set a time of 1:28.429 to jump into second but saw that lap time deleted due to track limits, meaning the Belgian will start in third for R-ace GP, just behind championship leader Norris of Josef Kaufmann Racing.

Will Palmer will make it an all R-ace GP second row, while Dorian Boccolacci will start fifth for Tech 1 Racing, setting a time just 0.018 seconds faster than sixth placed Henrique Chaves of AVF.

Saturday’s front row starter Jehan Daruvala could only qualify seventh this time around for Josef Kaufmann Racing, with Tech 1 Racing’s Gabriel Aubry eighth, while Saturday’s podium finisher Ferdinand Habsburg only ninth after the Fortec Motorsport driver had his best time deleted for track limits that would have seen him sixth.

Alexey Korneev completed the top ten for JD Motorsport, finishing just ahead of team-mate James Allen and Fortec’s Vasily Romanov.
