Dean Stoneman will have a taste of driving an IndyCar when he participates in the August 11th test at Watkins Glen with Andretti Autosport.

The Briton will be joined by his fellow Andretti Autosport Indy Lights team-mates Shelby Blackstock and Dalton Kellett at the legendary circuit, with Stoneman testing the #28 car usually raced by former series champion and a previous Indy 500 winner Ryan Hunter-Reay.

Stoneman currently sits fifth in the Indy Lights standings and has taken two victories this season, both at Indianapolis after triumphing on both the road course and the oval course in the space of a few weeks in May.

“To be there testing at an iconic US circuit will be great. I have been watching the ‘big guys’ all season so I’m going to enjoy finally testing one,” said Stoneman.

“I came to Indy Lights with a view of moving up to IndyCar, the goal that I’m working on for 2017, so the test will give everybody some indication of my ability.

“In 2010 I was invited to test a Williams F1 car in Abu Dhabi and seemed to really impress everyone, so I’m hoping we can do the same sort of job with Andretti as I look to next year.”
