Lando Norris continued his strong Formula Renault 2.0 Northern European Cup form with two more pole positions at the Nurburgring on Friday.

The British driver led a Josef Kaufmann Racing 1-2 in qualifying for race one, and then a 1-2-3 for race two, meaning Norris has taken the last nine pole positions available this season.

Norris’ best time of 1:55.685 during the opening of the two qualifying sessions was enough to give him pole position for race one, where he will be joined on the front row by Russian team-mate Robert Shwartzman, while Sacha Fenestraz will start third for Tech 1 Racing ahead of Max Defourny of R-ace GP.

The third Josef Kaufmann Racing entry of Jehan Daruvala will be fifth on the grid for the opening race, ahead of Tech 1 Racing duo Dorian Boccolacci and Hugo de Sadeleer, with Alex Gill eighth for Mark Burdett Motorsport, while Bruno Baptista of Fortec Motorsports and Julien Falchero of R-ace GP complete the top ten.

The second qualifying session was a quicker affair, with Norris setting a best time of 1:54.833 to take pole position for race two, with Daruvala this time joining him on the front row and Shwartzman making it a team 1-2-3.

Defourny will again be fourth on the grid ahead of Fenestraz and de Sadeleer, with debutant Marcus Armstrong seventh for R-ace GP, who are without the services Will Palmer this weekend.

Ferdinand Habsburg will start eighth for Fortec Motorsports, while Boccolacci and Falchero will complete the top ten.
