Swift Rallycross Bow For Ginetta Ace Robertson

1 Mins read

Fraser Robertson will swap his Ginetta G55 GT4 for a Suzuki Swift Sport rallycross car this weekend as he competes during the 2016 British Rallycross Championship season finale at Croft.

Robertson will join the Peter Gwynne Motorsport outfit for his discipline debut during the final round of the Swift Rallycross Championship, which is currently led by Nathan Heathcote.

The one-off appearance at his local circuit will provide a new challenge for Robertson, as he gets behind the wheel of the 1.6l front-wheel drive Swift, having been used to a rear wheel drive, 355bhp G55.

The Brompton-On-Swale based racer has been an AM class front-runner in the Supercup for the past two years, securing eight podium finishes this season including a maiden win.

Robertson isn’t the only driver associated with Ginetta making his rallycross debut this weekend, with 2015 Junior champion Jamie Caroline competing in the RX150 buggy’s.

Caroline will drive the Odyssey Battery celebrity car, which has been raced over the course of the season by the likes of World RX driver Janis Baumanis and rally ace Osian Pryce.
