Arden International Motorsport’s continued growth in junior single seater formulae continues in 2017 with announcement that Zane Goddard and Ghislain Cordeel will race for the team in the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 Series.

Australian Goddard and Belgian Cordeel have signed alongside the already confirmed Dan Ticktum, who comes into the championship as a new name in the Red Bull Junior Team programme.

Goddard moves into the championship following a race winning campaign in British Formula 4, taking the chequered flag first on four occasions, and tested with Arden in 2.0-litre machinery during winter testing.

“I am super excited about the season ahead,” said Goddard. “To be racing with Arden in the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup Championship is amazing. Arden has proved time and time again that they can win races in all championships.

“After my first test with the team, I could straight away see the determination to succeed amongst every member of the team. I have no doubts that by race one of the season we will have a super competitive car and all the tools to achieve big things.

“I strongly believe that Formula Renault is the perfect next step to improve myself as a driver. The field will be ultra-competitive and also having the opportunity to race at so many big name circuits such as racing at Monaco on the Formula 1 weekend will be so beneficial in years to come.

“I am now just super eager to get started working with the whole team and to hit the track. I think it’s fair to say the first test couldn’t come around soon enough.”

Cordeel makes his full-time debut in the championship in 2017 after racing in selected races in 2016 at Paul Ricard, Spa-Francorchamps and Estoril, taking a best finish of thirteenth along the way.

“Wherever you race on earth, the guidelines will always be in English,” said Cordeel. “Names like pole position.. Flying finish.. Gentleman start your engines.. They all came from that wonderful country called England!!

“So the best thing that can happen to a real racing driver is to race for an English team! Racing is my life!”
