Toyo Tires will become the title sponsor of the MSA British Rallycross Championship for the next three years beginning in 2017 and will also introduce a bonus prize scheme with cash awards for drivers who win events using Toyo Tires.

The premium Japanese tire manufacturer will sponsor the series that in 2016 celebrated its 40th anniversary and crowned its youngest ever champion Dan Rooke.

Kenta Kuribayashi, President of Toyo Tire Europe GmbH said on the deal: “Toyo Tires will be supporting the growth of this dramatic motorsport format for the next three years having signed a contract until the end of 2019. The excitement and accessibility of the sport make Rallycross the perfect partner for Toyo Tires.”

Whilst BRX Championship manager Tim Whittington commented on the news: “I’m delighted to welcome Toyo Tires to the MSA British Rallycross Championship. Its enthusiasm for Rallycross is great to see and I look forward to working closely together over the next three years. The championship was stronger than it had been for some time in 2016 and we’re hopeful of continuing an upward trend this season.”

The Toyo Tires MSA British Rallycross Championship will take place over nine rounds beginning at Croft Circuit on March 19.
