Tom Cave leads the RSAC Scottish Rally going into the second day of action ahead of Fredrik Ahlin and David Bogie
Cave leads by 9.9 seconds ahead of the championship leader with Bogie a further ten seconds adrift in third.
After a ceremonial start in Dumfries on Friday evening, the crews tackled a pair of wet gravel stages that caught out many drivers including Matt Edwards, who lost a wheel on stage two, and Rhys Yates.
Fourth overall is Martin McCormack ahead of second in the championship Osian Pryce in fifth and M-Sport driver Keith Cronin in sixth.
The Prestone Motorsport News Junior BRC class sees Oscar Solberg narrowly lead Cameron Davies by 1.7 seconds at the end of day one with Callum Devine, who had two punctures on his Ford Fiesta R2T when he returned to service, in third 7.6 seconds behind the leader.
Fourth in the class is Meirion Evans, with James Williams in fifth and William Creighton struggling in sixth over one and a half minutes behind Solberg.
Josh Cornwell leads by 20 seconds in the Cadet BRC class ahead of Tom Williams with the returning Australian Arron Windus in a fine third in class in his Vauxhall Adam R2 Cup while Donnie MacDonald, in the National Cup is a fine ninth overall in his Ford Fiesta R5 and Spencer Wilkinson, who managed to enter this event after a shortage of parts put their entry into doubt, is 23rd overall.
The RSCA Scottish Rally continues this weekend on May 20.
