British Talent Team rider John McPhee finished in sixth last time out in Mugello, a solid finish considering that the top 9 all finished within a second of each other. It was a tricky race for John, as he fought hard to keep Leopard Racing’s Joan Mir at bay. But going into the Catalunya GP, he is eager to improve.

McPhee is no stranger to the Montmelo track, and has finished inside the top 10 here in the past. He spent much of his pre-season in Girona which is just North of the Catalunya track.

He currently sits 6th in the championship, but with the competition hotter than ever it is now that he must work to improve.

The race at Mugello was great fun and it was good to be back in the battle and come away with a strong finish.” said McPhee.

“Now it’s on to Barcelona, which we know will create a very different kind of race. This place feels more or less like a home race for me after spending all of my pre-season in Girona.

“So as always a podium is the target, but we’re also focused on taking as many points as possible. It’s a long year but things are already tight at the top!”
