EuroFormula Open championship leader Harrison Scott continued where he left off at Spa-Francorchamps by setting the fastest time of the day during the practice sessions at a warm Circuit Paul Ricard on Friday.

After three wins in the opening four races of the year, the RP Motorsport driver has been the one to beat this season, and Scott set a best time of 2:01.275s during the second of the three sessions to hit the front.

Only two other drivers managed laps beneath 2:02s, with Nikita Troitskiy ending 0.249 seconds back for Drivex School, while Jannes Fittje placed third, and quickest of all in the final session, with a 2:01.694s for Fortec Motorsports.

Devlin De Francesco, a double podium finisher in Belgium, was fourth fastest in the first of the four Carlin Motorsport entries, while Simo Laaksonen made it five different teams, and four rookie drivers, inside the top five places for Campos Racing.

Ameya Vaidyanathan, the only other driver to win in 2017 aside from Scott after triumphing in race one at Spa-Francorchamps, was down in sixth for Carlin after a best lap of 2:02.076s, while Eliseo Martinez, Petru Florescu, Alex Karkosik and Christian Hahn completed the top ten.
