Twenty-year-old Hungarian racer László Tóth has become Bhaitech Racing’s first signing for the 2020 Formula Renault Eurocup season.

Tóth joins the Eurocup field for the first time in 2020 after racing last year in Formula 4, with the Hungarian having experienced Italian, ADAC and Spanish Formula 4 competitions during his single-seater career to date.

He entered the ADAC Formula 4 championship with R-ace GP in 2019 but only scored points on one occasion, which came in the season-closing race at the Sachsenring in Germany.

He also experienced three pointless rounds with R-ace GP in the Italian Formula 4 championship, and Tóth goes into 2020 knowing it will be a big step up for him to race with Formula 3 machinery.

“I’m very pleased to be joining Bhaitech for the 2020 Eurocup Renault season,” said Tóth.  “The Eurocup is one of the best junior championships to keep on learning and improving my driving and although I know that the step from F4 will be quite big, I feel ready for the challenge.

“I did some tests with the team at the end of 2019 and I felt very well in and out of the car. I cannot wait to start working with my engineer and mechanics and I’m looking forward to the first tests in Valencia.”

Nicolò Gaglian, the Team Manager of Bhaitech, has welcomed the Hungarian racer to the team after a pair of positive tests with the team at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza in Italy and Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia, Spain where Tóth impressed.

“We are really happy to welcome Tóth to our team,” said Gaglian.  “We tested with him at Monza and Valencia and the outcome was extremely positive on both occasions.

“László quickly established a great feeling with the car and team which is a really important factor. I believe he will be one of the leading rookies of the series so we can’t wait for the start of the season.”
