BhaiTech Racing have completed their three-car line-up for the 2020 Formula Renault Eurocup season by signing Italian teenager Nicola Marinangeli.
Marinangeli raced for the team in the Italian Formula 4 championship in 2019 and although he failed to score a point, he did enough to earn himself a promotion to the Eurocup championship. He enjoyed a positive F4 UAE campaign where he finished fifth in the final standings.
The seventeen-year-old will join the already confirmed Lorenzo Colombo and László Tóth in a three-car assault on the Eurocup championship that will begin at the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza next month after several months of delays caused by the Coronavirus.
“Car racing has always been my greatest passion,” said Marinangeli. “I cannot wait to get back on track in Formula Renault after the lengthy lockdown. I train for this new challenge every day.
“I look forward to a positive season with the help of BhaiTech in order to achieve the best possible results.”
Nicolò Gaglian, the Team Manager at BhaiTech Racing, said Marinangeli grew up a lot during the Formula 4 campaign in 2019 and although he will once again be a rookie, he is sure that the Italian will leave a ‘great impression’ on the Eurocup championship this year.
“We are delighted for the renewed agreement with Marinangeli for the 2020 Formula Renault Eurocup season,” said Gaglian. “Nicola has been with us in the 2019 Formula 4 season and grew up quite a lot throughout the season.
“He already had the chance to test our Renault F3 car and liked it so staying together for 2020 ended up being the most natural choice. He will be a rookie again this season, but we are sure that he will leave a great impression.”
