After being postponed from its original August 07-09 date due to COVID-19 concerns, the Honda Indy 200 doubleheader event at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course will now be held Saturday 12 September and Sunday 13 September.

Before its rescheduling, the month of September was completely barren for NTT IndyCar Series action, but now the teams will head to the 3.86 km road course before taking another shot at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course on 02-03 October for the IndyCar Harvest GP.

No details have been released about fan attendance, but both track owners Green Savoree Racing Promotions and IndyCar are working towards having spectators at a limited capacity.

“The NTT INDYCAR SERIES will run at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course next weekend, with double-header races scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 12 and Sunday, Sept. 13. We look forward to an exciting weekend of racing action at an excellent venue,” IndyCar said in an official statement.

“Green Savoree Racing Promotions will contact customers soon with guidance regarding event attendance.”

One practice session will be held on Saturday morning, and a qualifying session will be held before each race. Saturday’s race coverage will begin at 20:30 GMT (16:30 local time) and Sunday coverage will begin at 17:00 GMT (13:00 local time).
