Another FIA Formula 3 seat has been filled ahead of the 2021 season with Campos Racing announcing their third and final driver in Hungarian László Tóth.

The twenty-year-old raced in Formula Renault Eurocup last season where he scored just fourteen points as he ended the year sixteenth in the driver’s standings while racing for Bhaitech Racing.

He will join up with his Bhaitech teammate from last year Lorenzo Colombo and fellow Formula Renault Eurocup rival Amaury Cordeel in the Spanish team with points the aim of the game.

“I’m very pleased and honoured to continue my career at a team with such great heritage,” said Tóth “I’d like to continue going forward step by step, just like I did before. This will be my first F3 season. Obviously the main goals are to develop and gain as much experience as possible.”

Campos’ 2020 F3 season was saved largely thanks to the efforts of Alex Peroni who scored all sixty-four points with three podiums but the team will hope for a more evenly spread share of the points this year.

Campos founder Adrián Campos passed away in January at the age of 60. His son, Adrián Campos Jr., said: “It has been a tremendous hit, obviously for me as his son, but also for everyone inside the team. We need to move forward and continue his legacy.

“He was already preparing us for a transition. He wanted to enjoy racing again without so much responsibility, so in the team we all had very clear his indications of what he wanted for the future of the team.

“Everyone is now more motivated than ever and with Laszlo completing our line-up together with Amaury and Lorenzo, I am sure we will make him proud of his team wherever he is”
